Precision stationary belt sander specially developed for cutlery, the production of blades, and handles for artisanal knives in all phases, from manufacturing to finishing.
Its great versatility makes it the basic machine for the knife maker but it proves to be indispensable in all workshops of mechanics, blacksmiths, or locksmiths, for tasks such as shaping, deburring, finishing, sharpening, regardless of the materials used. It allows progression in the artisanal knife-making process to the professional stage, working on the blade from a material removal (stock removal) standpoint or from forged blanks.
Designed for use with interchangeable abrasive belts measuring 50x2000mm, facilitated by the tension arm's hooking mechanism. The linear speed of the belt reaches a maximum of 30 m/s.
A traditional Backstand requires the use of 10 different abrasive belts.

In addition, each wheel or table support arm has an adjustable stop to individually pre-set the desired belt tension for each of these accessories.
Design
Rigid monobloc frame fully machined. Its technical design and aesthetic, along with the quality of components and the choice of a high-damping aluminum alloy, make it a rigid, quiet, and vibration-free machine.
Precision machining ensures perfect alignment and guidance of all fixed or movable elements: motor centering, tension pulley guiding, belt alignment, tension arm hooking, planer table positioning, adjustment of contact wheel arms, blade support system guidance, and hand rests.

- Monobloc aluminum chassis, motor support
- Tension pulley system and abrasive belt alignment mounted on high-speed precision bearings. Pre-assembled on the frame
- Planer table with 2 aluminum pulleys (dia 60mm) mounted on high-speed precision bearings (rubber option)
- Interchangeable ground steel belt friction plate, dimensions: 50x210mm
- The planer table is normally oriented in a vertical position at 90°, can tilt up to + or - 90° with graduations every 5 degrees
- Support/hand rest system. Stainless steel support plate, adjustable in height. Support plate dimensions: 280x160mm. Suitable for use on both the planer table and with the contact wheels
- Front plate on which button enclosures or controllers are fixed at a suitable distance from the operator (a single plate model for any enclosures or controllers)
- Wide base plate fixed under the chassis for a perfectly stabilized machine (designed for both the base version and with the horizontal work tilt system option)

This allows for transitioning from one version to another based on needs and budget while preserving the initial investment.

Plaque d’appui orientable pour Backstand Coutelier MV2020-1
The contact wheel is an additional tooling for the Backstand Knife Maker MV 2020-1. Provided with a vulcanized caoutchouc coating around it, with a hardness of 70 Shore D. If necessary, it can be provided with a notched coating, except the 38 mm version. This wheel is assembled on a high-speed precision ball bearing and can be directly installed to replace the planning table.
